If you like to be in water and you like to play catch with a ball, you’ll love water polo! The Windansea water polo club is looking for kids who want to have fun in the water and learn how to play this great game. No experience needed. If you can swim, you can learn to play water polo! We offer a full range of programs from beginning level (using the shallow end of the pool) to our athletes who are competing in national tournaments; there is something for every ability level. Come to the Coggan Family Aquatic Complex pool and join in a practice to see if you might like to play.

Fall season will run from September through the end of November. The middle school boys will practice every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 – 5:00 PM. The 6 -10 year old boys will practice on Tuesday from 4:00 – 5:00 PM.

Coaches for the boys are Joseph Cavaiola (LJHS water polo coach) and Tom Martinez. Head Coach of the club and head coach of the La Jolla High School water polo teams is Tom Atwell. Fees for the fall (November and December are treated as one month due to holidays) are $350 for middle school and $150 for water bugs. Separate pool membership is required through the Coggan pool. If you have any questions about the club, please see a coach on the pool deck or contact the club “email mom” Michelle Lebeau at (858) 454-4721.

Getting started is relatively simple. Equipment is minimal- start with a swim suit and goggles, then just add water. The club provides all the other equipment and tools necessary to develop your child into a healthy, well-conditioned water polo player, in an enjoyable, educational and rigorous setting.
