WELCOME TO WINDANSEA WATER POLO CLUB

The Windansea Water Polo Club is an organization that was founded by Coach Tom Atwell to teach and promote the sport of water polo among youths in the California high school/middle school communities of San Diego. We are an age group development program and a proud member of USA Water Polo (Club #1654) of the Pacific Southwest Zone (PSW) (Zone # 8). Our goal is to create an environment where younger athletes can gain exposure to the game of water polo and high school age athletes can develop their skills to make them competitive at the high school level and possibly, the higher skilled athletes, into college prospects. We encourage academics, good sportsmanship, healthy living, positive peer pressure, a drug free environment, and a strong, disciplined work ethic. We are a year round program that culminates each year with at trip in August to either the Junior Olympics or Hawaii for a national water polo tournament. Our players have competed in many prestigious tournaments for the past several years to include: CIF, Cal State Games, National Junior Olympics, Hawaii Invitational and the Santa Barbara 20-under International Invitational Championships. We practice at the Coggan Family Aquatic Complex, on the La Jolla High School property, and play in local leagues and tournaments as well as in tournaments in Los Angeles and Orange County.

To get your kid(s) involved:call Coach Tom Atwell at 858-361-1696. He will be happy to give you background on how to get your kids involved in water polo and or swimming. Coach Atwell has been named Coach of the Year by San Diego CIF, for both Swimming and Water Polo.
